- The dairy goats of Spinning Spider Creamery are bred for show and milk production. We are a commercial dairy and quality milk is the basis of our award winning artisan cheeses. Healthy, productive animals are key. Structurally correct animals that milk over long healthy lives are what we breed for. We feel that breeding for all of these things can coincide with animals that also win in the show ring. Spinning Spider dairy goats participate in Linear Appraisal, DHIA, and show both regionally and nationally. They're healthy, CAE negative and productive. Breeding and Kidding list for 2011
Our 2011 Saanen and Alpine breeding list is available here for review. Feel free to browse the goats' pedigrees using the links to the ADGA genetics page after each doe's registered name. Sires are at the bottom of the page with AI bucks included at the very end.
You will notice our list does not contain any first fresheners. This is because we breed all our first fresheners to our registered Kiko buck. Until we see an udder on a doe and milk her for a season, we are unwilling to sell her kids as anything but meat or dual purpose family goats. Every Spinning Spider kid will have a dam with a combination of show, DHIR and LA records to back her up.
If you find a planned pedigree you're interested in, please get in touch with us. Buck kids are kept only with a purchase agreement and with a 10% deposit. A limited number of doe kids are available via private contract. Because our cheese making and market season kicks in right along with kidding, we request that all kids are picked up within the first 2-4 weeks of birth. We prefer you pick up your kid at the farm. If this isn't possible, please plan on making your own arrangements for the kid to travel. We'll help as much as possible!
